We hope you enjoy your candle as much as we have enjoyed making it for you! To get the most enjoyment from your candle, we recommend you follow some simple guidelines.
Candles are social butterflies. They like to be around people. Never leave your candle unattended as this presents a huge fire hazard for your family and your home! We hope everyone in your family enjoys our candles, but if you do have children, make sure that an adult is present when they are enjoying our candles too!
Drafts can cause the candle to burn more quickly and can splash wax. It is also a fire hazard and is easy to avoid simply by placing your candle away from windows, fans, or anything else that might generate a draft.
Like people, wicks occasionally need a haircut. Before lighting your candle, check to make sure the wick is about 1/4 of an inch in length above the wax. This helps assure that your candle burns optimally and also helps reduce the soot the candle throws off, particularly when extinguished. Wicks that are too long can build up carbon deposits on them which is what increases the soot and, in some cases, can also result in a safety hazard. You can trim the wick with a pair of scissors, or you can use toenail clippers if the candle is too far down in the container to reach.

The container that your candle is in can get quite hot. It is always a good idea to place your candle on a heat-resistant surface, such as a candle coaster. We offer a few coasters, but any candle coaster will do. Doing this helps prevent damage to the surface your candle sits on, such as a countertop or table, particularly when the level of the wax is low.
When about 1/4 inch or so of wax remains, it may be time to find a new candle to brighten your home. But instead of throwing away the container, do the needful and either recycle the container or simply give it back to us! Doing your small part helps the environment for everyone!
